Burlington – Oakville continued

Severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon into this evening.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

A humid air mass over southern lower Michigan and Southwestern Ontario is likely to produce scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening with the potential for some of these storms to become severe. Torrential downpours and damaging winds gusts are the main threats. There is also a risk of an isolated tornado over Extreme Southwestern Ontario near Windsor.

TD is the first of the major 5 Banks to increase prime to 2.75% (from 2.50%) after the announcement this morning by the Bank of Canada to increase the overnight lending rate by 25 basis points.

Other banks will likely follow later today or tomorrow.
